Balanced Performance Equine Body Work

Welcome to Balanced Performance Equine Body Work! I'm so happy you are here. Take a look around.

But first, what is equine bodywork?

Equine bodywork is an essential component of your horse's health and performance. Using massage therapy and stretching exercises can help enhance the gait quality and overall performance of your horse.

Bodywork can also increase your horse's stamina, disposition, range of motion. This process helps relax the muscles and is used to prevent and heal muscular injuries.

Equinology

Bodywork Approach

Equinology is approved and recognized by the International Equine Body Work Association and Society of Osteopaths in Animal Practice.

My approach combines integrated sports massage. I use acupressure points, sports massage therapy, myofascial release, craniosacral, tens unit, stretching, cupping, and scraping. These gentle, non-invasive techniques are perfect for achieving musculoskeletal balance, reduce inflammation, and increase flexibility.

Equine bodywork is a hands-on approach using my hands, fingers, and arms. This hands-on assessment gives me the ability to feel soft tissue changes such as heat, swelling, and cold areas. Changes such as these could be evidence of strain or inflammation.

"Gretchen has been my horse’s equine body worker since 2012.  She is highly skilled, keeps up with her continuing education, is dependable and my horses love her!  She really helps me know what the horses are experiencing and how I can help them to feel better.  They talk to Gretchen - they tell her what they are feeling!"
